Firefighters Helping Firefighters

Our mission is reaching out to sick, injured and fallen firefighters and their immediate family in an effort to offset the many unforeseen daily burdens and financial obligations associated during their time of need. This organization was formed after the Houston Fire Department experienced the most devastating and deadly fire in the city’s history, the Southwest Inn fire. It was a 5-alarm fire that claimed the lives of five Houston firefighters and injured many others. This horrific fire was the catalyst for creating Firefighters Helping Firefighters.

Project Blue

Project Blue started in 2009 after we learned how many Police Officers faced losing everything due to a non-service-related injury or illness. Most of those who protect us, do so on a meager salary. They don’t have the ability to weather unforeseen storms. We are the only charity in the State of Texas exclusively devoted to helping officers weather these storms.

Our hope is that — when a Texas Police Officer needs us — we can be there to keep them afloat while they heal or ease their burdens when they cannot. We are a 100% volunteer organization; every penny we raise goes directly to an officer in need.
