The Best Olive Oil Sprayer

Mistifi Oliver Oil Sprayer for cooking, Spray bottle 6oz, Non-Aerosol Refillable Dispenser Oil Mister FS601 Green Vegetable

Out of all the ingredients I’ve encountered over my long culinary career, olive oil has to be one of the most intriguing ones.

For a start, I was never too huge on the whole oil affair. Sure, I saw the necessity, but never was a fan. However, the more I used the oil, the oil gave me more reasons to explore it and learn about it.

And the friendship we developed was extraordinary. So, what do I gather about my kitchen companion?

The Benefits of Using Olive Oil

Well, where to start?

Olive oil is very rich in polyphenols and is famous for their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticoagulant properties.

Second, according to research conducted at the University of Barcelona, Spain, olive oil kickstarts important mechanisms that help the body protect itself against breast cancer.

A very important property other vegetable-based oils lack, and a fact all ladies out there should pay very serious attention to.

Important Read: Can The Olive Oil Go Bad?

Is that all? Certainly not.

Olive oil helps the body reduce high cholesterolprotects the liver, provides much necessary support in the fight against arthritis, and is widely believed to block proteins that damage the brain cells and, as a result, cause, Alzheimer’s disease.

I told you, each new fact I discovered was even more amazing than the previous one.

The Issue of Proper Dosing

The one problem I still have with olive oil, though, is that we are talking about a very, very plentiful source of monounsaturated fat (approximately 14%).

And not only that, every tablespoon contains at least 120 calories. That is a lot, so you have to be extremely careful about the proper dosing.

Because even the slightest shake of the hand can turn your healthy meal into a bloated, oily mess. Not that my husband would care too much, but still.

But how, then, to prevent this from happening?

Honestly, I don’t know.

After some time, I simply gave up and started getting into olive oil sprayers that are, by far, the simplest way to address this glaring issue.

Not quite as majestic as waving your hand, but it makes any activity ranging from dressing the salad and greasing baking pans to spraying food before it’s grilled or seasoning pasta much more efficient.

Here are a couple of demands I’ve put in front of myself when looking for the ideal sprayer:

Things You Should Look into When Buying an Olive Oil Sprayer

The way it looks

A property never to be underestimated. If you are going to use a sprayer only in the kitchen far from the curious eyes, you can get away with some less than a stunning piece.

But if you are going to put it on the table in front of your guests, be sure it looks the part. Also, keep in mind that the sprayer needs to blend with the rest of the kitchenware.

Durability

Essentially, it all boils down to the choice of the materials. Traditionally, metallic units are expected to score the best mileage.

However, you can always put your trust in the thick sturdy glass to survive a couple of collisions with the kitchen floor. Beware, though oil sprayers tend to become very slippery. Plastic is very durable, but the least visually appealing.

Spraying Mechanism

Most of the current olive oil sprayers are equipped with aerosol spraying units that are designed to dispense the oil into the liquid cloud.

This may work well for some other purposes, but when it comes to oil, it’s not the most sensible solution. What you should look for instead is a mechanism that will spray the oil in a steady, fine stream without too much dispersion.

If you are forced to choose between the pump that will sustain a long spray but sputter and spat along the way or a short burst spray that effectively covers the area, always choose the latter one.

Ease of Cleaning

Suffice it to say, that oil sprayers require a lot of maintenance. It is in your best interest to find a unit that won’t be too troublesome to clean. Just remember, we are not speaking only about the very bottle, but the spraying mechanism as well. You have to look into the details.

Storage Capacity

Obviously, the bigger the better. However, you should not go overboard. Try finding a unit that will allow decent storage space (remember, an oil sprayer is only an axillary unit, you won’t store oil long-term) but pack it in a streamlined and good-looking body. The units that are going to be used only in the kitchen can afford themselves more “generous” dimensions.

Ergonomic Design

Finally, a good olive oil sprayer should be well-designed and easy to use. Stay as far as possible from slippery units, hard-to-reach handles, unbearable caps, and sprayers that don’t fit well into your hands. Those are destined to make occasional trips to your kitchen floor.

Best Olive Oil Sprayers On The Market

Now, let’s take a look at five top-rated olive oil sprayers I could find on the market and see how well they held up when I pitted them against the standards I set above.

Our Pick

The Fine Life Ideal Olive Oil Mister

Although I own tons of kitchenware, somehow, I almost entirely missed The Fine Life product lineup.

I own a coffee brewer from them, and it works pretty decently so, at least, I had some idea what I can expect from this product. I’m glad to say that my expectations were entirely met.

So, let’s start with the positives. The Fine Life Ideal Olive Oil Mister performs very well. We are talking about the mister so you can’t expect huge globs of oil, but as far as the fine work goes, it does offer very good and consistent performance.

The bottle is transparent so you’ll always know how much oil you have inside and won’t fear from overfilling. The package is easy to disassemble and clean, but also tight and leak-free. The pump works fine, and it doesn’t require more than a few gentle pushes.

So, what’s wrong?

Well, the body of the sprayer is made out of plastic. This may come off as a relief for people who like to expose their kitchenware to all sorts of abuse, but for me, it just cheapens the package.

As for the diameter, it approximates 2 3/4 inches. I had no problem using the sprayer, but I can see such dimensions posing a problem for some of the ladies. Finally, I could live without having to unscrew the lid to release the air after each use.

Ideal Olive Oil Sprayer Mister - We Are Down to the last 8 units. Grab Yours Now!

What I Liked

  • The sprayer spreads the oil evenly and consistently.
  • The unit looks the part.
  • Cleaning is easy and carefree.

What I Didn’t Like

  • The body is made out of plastic, which somewhat undermines the whole pristine look.
  • The diameter could be smaller.
  • A bit pricey.

Aericon Olive Oil Sprayer

If we previously agreed that Evo Kitchen’s sprayer bears a strong resemblance to a degreaser, you have to admit that Aericon Olive Oil Sprayer Dispenser looks a lot like some oversized perfume. It may be just me, but I can’t exactly see it sitting on the table during a posh dinner.

That shouldn’t be too much of a problem, though, because that’s not what the manufacturer intended in the first place.

According to its creators, this neat dispenser was meant for long lazy barbecues. And when you treat it like that, it’s safe to say the product overperforms.

First, the body is made out of glass and stainless steel a match made in heaven.

Second, the performance is rock-solid. The oil is dispersed fast and evenly.

Is that all? No.

The unit entails no special requirements in regards to filling (you can use the whole bottle if you want to) or spraying, and handling feels very easy and precise. The bottle is transparent, so you’ll always know how much oil you’re left with.

Also, it is worth mentioning that the whole package comes equipped with two oil brushes that should make the fine work of all the oil that may end up unevenly dispersed, and all of that at a bargain price. Not that bad for an inconspicuous barbecue oil disperser.

AERICKON Oil Sprayer for Cooking,Olive Oil Sprayer Mister,Upgraded Olive Oil Spray Portable Bottle with Scale for Fryer,Kitchen,Salad,Baking,BBQ,Roasting,Barbecue Kit

What I Liked

  • The value you get for the money.
  • Solid performance.
  • Great build quality and easy handling.

What I Didn’t Like

  • A product that was meant for outdoor use but can’t take too much abuse.
  • In spite of the great materials used for the build, the sprayer doesn’t impress with its look.

Evo Oil Sprayer Kitchen Evo Sprayer Bottle

And now here’s the product that addresses most of the issues of the previous contender and improves upon the things that were already good, but not without making some very curious missteps along the way.

One of the main advantages is obviously the size of the whole thing. With the pretty impressive capacity of 18 ounces, I never came into the situation of “running out of fuel” in the midst of cooking. Unlike the previous product, this capacity doesn’t come at the expense of the overall usability. The bottle should fit any hand perfectly.

The very handle is simple and ergonomically designed. You won’t experience any discomfort even after the extended use. The nozzle sprays aggressive short-burst, two-inch spray at a one-foot distance.

Sometimes it may even overspray the smaller dishes so try to be as precise as possible. But handling such a powerful and consistent spray feels truly gratifying. The cleaning of the unit is very easy, and as of now, I haven’t experienced any clogging.

As for the rest, I should point out that this product, as well, is made out of high-quality plastic. Not the greatest possible solution, but, at least, it looks sturdy and won’t break anytime soon.

What I have more problems with is that, when it’s filled with olive oil, the whole bottle, ironically, looks like some degreaser.

Sure, it’s designed by Michael Graves Design Group, but we’re all entitled to our opinions.

Another thing I find bothering is the placement of the tube in the bottom of the tank. In some cases, when the bottle is heavily tilted, the sprayer is impossible to use.

What I Liked

  • Great performance
  • An ergonomically designed product.
  • It offers a lot of value for the money.

What I Didn’t Like

  • I’m not buying the whole design.
  • The placement of the oil tube.

Misto Brushed Aluminum Olive Oil Sprayer

In a world of kitchens, Misto is a brand that needs very little introduction. If you ever paid a visit to any semi-decent chain store or even browsed through an online kitchenware shop, you couldn’t miss it.

So, it’s pretty safe to say I had an image of Misto as the go-to oil mister brand even before I got interested in oil sprayers. So, how does that image hold up now that I finally used one of their products?

For a start, I’m very glad that I finally got a grip on a genuine aluminum piece. The material is sturdy and yet very lightweight. What’s also important is that it plays very well with my inox pieces, so Misto immediately earns a plus.

As for the design, it’s very streamlined but eye-pleasing. The performance is on par with the unit’s look. The delivered mist is consistent and reasonably powerful. The size of the unit falls more on the bigger side, but it’s still manageable.

The only thing I really dislike is the way you use the sprayer.

  • First, you can’t fill the bottle more than half, which pretty much kills the potential the ample size offers.
  • Second, before you can spray, you first need to pump the cap 10 to 15 times to create the pressure.

I know that’s the price you pay for eco-friendliness, but still… Finally, the sprayer offers the greatest performance when it’s tilted into the 45-degree position.

When you are in a hurry and need to season a chicken in an open oven quickly, that’s not something you want to bother with.

What I Liked

  • Sleek aluminum design.
  • Consistent performance.
  • Low price.

What I Didn’t Like

  • Sometimes, it’s very convoluted to use.
  • The huge body can be filled only up to half.
  • Dismantling is a pain in the neck.

Cookisy Olive Oil and Vinegar Sprayer Set

As you can probably see, out of all the things the previous product did right, the thing that left the strongest impression on me was its simplistic, sleek body.

Well, it doesn’t take more than a passing look at this entry to see that the package will score some serious points in the looks department. Once again, we are faced with a sweet-looking metallic body.

This time, though, instead of aluminum, we are dealing with stainless steel. And instead of only one product, the package features two sprayers one for olive oil and one for vinegar.

And a silicone funnel for easier refilling? Please, continue, you’ve got my attention.

Well, there are a lot more good things to be said about this offer. The sprayers are not only designed to look the part, but they also perform exceptionally well and feel very solid.

The bottles don’t look like they’ll break away anytime soon. The diameter is more than manageable, so you won’t have problems using them even if you have the smallest possible hands.

Unfortunately, this is one of those spraying mechanisms that require leaving some space in the bottle. What you get by following the instructions is no more than 80 ml (2,7 ounces) of available space.

Pack that with the fact that there’s no reliable way to determine how much oil is left in the bottle, and you’ll get a pair of units you won’t have a problem bringing to the table in front of the guests.

However, I rarely used them for serious kitchen work (at least for recipes that require regular seasoning, or some other intensive oil-related technique).

Olive Oil Sprayer - Stainless Steel Vinegar Sprayer And Olive Oil Pump Mister Spray Bottles For BBQ Cooking Baking Roasting Grilling Frying With Silicone Funnel

What I Liked

  • A package that is very competently put together
  • The sprayers look and feel great.
  • Solid non-aerosol performance.
  • Dishwasher-friendly.

What I Didn’t Like

  • The lack of capacity undermines everything positive
  • The tube sometimes feels very narrow, at least for oil.

Conclusion

And Now, It’s Time For A Roundup

And you know what, it’s not that easy at all.

Over the time I tested the units, every one of the sprayers showed some pretty awesome qualities and eventually found a permanent place in my kitchen (I do like to stockpile kitchenware in cases of emergency).

So, I’ll have to declare the winner based solely on the fact which one of them I find the most useful and use the most often.

And that would be the last unit I bought and the last unit on the list the Aericon Olive Oil Sprayer Dispenser.

Sure, other sprayers may look more presentable and excel in one area or another, but when I need to get the job done, this is my go-to unit.

And I never fear my meal will end up soaked in excessive oil.

So, forget the whole “barbecue” nonsense. This is a sprayer for all seasons! 😉
